Absolutely. As a donor, you are welcome to specify which initiative you’d like your contribution to support. When making a payment, simply include one of the designated initiative codes to indicate your preference — and we’ll ensure your donation is allocated accordingly.
If no initiative code is provided, your donation will be directed to the Spur Foundation’s general fund.

Yes, the Spur Foundation is in a position to issue a Section 18a Tax Certificate to all South African donors.  We issue certificates for all donations of R100 or more per annum.

We most definitely do, the needs in our communities are vast, and we know we can achieve so much more when we work together. We warmly invite like-minded corporates who share our commitment to making a positive impact to partner with us on projects and initiatives that support those most vulnerable. Any registered NGO, NPO or PBO that aligns with our funding focus is welcome to apply. We invite organisations to submit a detailed 2–3 page proposal outlining the issue they aim to address, their planned interventions or projects, specific needs, and the amount of funding requested.

To be considered for funding support from the Spur Foundation or any of our associated initiatives, your organisation must meet the following criteria:

• Be a registered NGO, NPO or PBO
• Have been operating for at least 5 years
• Be able to provide audited financial statements upon request
• Operate within the borders of South Africa
• Serve a minimum of 50 beneficiaries

Please ensure your proposal reflects how your organisation meets these requirements.

Registered NGOs, NPOs and PBOs that meet our beneficiary criteria and align with our funding focus areas — Early Childhood Development (ECD), Planet, and Community — are invited to submit a detailed 2–3 page proposal to the Spur Foundation at spurfoundation@spur.co.za during our annual application window from 1 November – 28 February.

All qualifying proposals will be carefully evaluated. If your proposal is of interest, we will contact you in the new year to request any additional information or documentation required. Our strategy and budgets are finalised in May/June, and all successful applicants will be notified by end-July.

Please keep these timelines in mind when applying for funding for specific projects, as disbursements will only be made from 1 July, which marks the start of our financial year.
